Hospital Patient Management
Records, appointments & diagnosis assist
A secure hospital platform for managing patient records, appointments, and medical staff via RBAC — with a diagnostic-suggestion engine that reasons over symptoms and vitals to assist clinicians.
Domain
- Healthcare
Standout
- Diagnosis-assist engine
Access control
- RBAC (3 roles)
Design
- Modular, multi-branch
Hosting
- AWS (EC2/RDS/S3/EB)
Overview
Hospitals and clinics juggle records, appointments, and staff across roles that each need a very different view of the same patient. This platform brings all of it under one roof — with encryption and RBAC to keep medical data safe, and a modular design that can scale across multiple branches.
The standout piece is a diagnostic-suggestion engine: it reasons over a patient's symptoms together with vitals like temperature, blood sugar, blood pressure, and heart rate to assist clinicians at the point of care.
Key features
- Patient records: history, diagnoses, prescriptions, and lab reports
- Appointment system with sample collection and courier tracking
- Diagnostic suggestion engine using symptoms plus vitals (temperature, blood sugar, pressure, heart rate)
- Family-based booking — multiple patient profiles under one account
- Doctor and staff registration, attendance, and ratings
- RBAC across Admins, Doctors, and Receptionists with encrypted data
Architecture
~/projects/hospital-patient-management/architecture.md
Laravel + MySQL with a modular, independently-deployable design; a rules-driven diagnostic-suggestion engine over patient symptoms and vitals; RBAC and encryption throughout; hosted on AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, Elastic Beanstalk).
What I did
- Built patient records, appointments (including sample collection and courier tracking), and staff modules
- Developed the rules-driven diagnostic-suggestion engine over symptoms and vitals
- Implemented family-based booking and RBAC across Admins, Doctors, and Receptionists
- Designed the modular architecture to scale across hospitals, with encryption in transit and at rest
Outcomes
Outcome 01
Modular architecture designed to scale across multiple hospitals or branches
Outcome 02
Data encrypted at rest and in transit across a sensitive medical surface
Outcome 03
Extensible toward lab systems, pharmacy/insurance APIs, and government health IDs
