Maintaining a global marketing-content platform

I'm a Senior Software Engineer (Full-Stack) at NewPage Solutions, where I maintain and modernise a global self-service marketing-content platform — Laravel upgrades, deployment automation, and production support — while learning the Veeva ecosystem. Earlier here I migrated enterprise content from Veeva Vault to Adobe AEM on an AWS Lambda microservice architecture with a custom migration dashboard.

Before · Mallow Technologies

5yrs

Before this I spent five years at Mallow Technologies growing from intern to senior, leading full-stack delivery across healthcare, finance, logistics, and e-commerce products.

6+ yrs

6+ years across PHP/Laravel, React/Next.js, Vue, and Node.js/Nest.js

DockR

Built DockR — a CLI that makes Docker-based local dev for Laravel (and Python) effortless

RBAC + RLS

Shipped multi-role platforms with RBAC and PostgreSQL row-level security

OpenAI

Integrated OpenAI APIs for content generation and chatbot features

−30% / +40%

Cut query response times by 30% and overall app performance by 40% through optimisation

My backend home turf since 2020 — APIs, queues, multi-role systems, and the framework behind most of what I ship.

Core competencies

  • REST API design
  • Queues & background jobs
  • RBAC & multi-tenancy
  • Payment integrations (Razorpay, Stripe)
  • JWT / OAuth2 auth
  • Eloquent & query tuning
  • Built DockR, a Docker-based local-dev CLI for Laravel adopted as internal tooling
  • Delivered multi-role platforms (cab booking, food delivery, hospital, banking) on Laravel

DockR

Integration for Laravel — Docker

DockR lets your Laravel projects run with Docker seamlessly for the local development environment. It's a Bash-scripted CLI that maintains containers for multiple Laravel projects at once — shared database and Redis containers, domain-name proxying, and global scripts mean no per-project Docker files cluttering your repo.

  • Born from the Apple M1 (ARM) transition that broke Homestead — Docker was chosen so it runs on both Intel (x86) and ARM architectures
  • Replaces the per-project container model (à la Laravel Sail) with shared asset containers, cutting memory use when running many projects at once
  • Reduces lengthy local project setup to a single `dockr up` command

Cab Management System

Booking, tracking & payments platform

A comprehensive cab platform spanning a customer app, a vendor app, and an admin dashboard — with real-time tracking, in-app payments, and Google Maps integration for a seamless ride experience.

  • Automated booking and fleet workflows, reducing manual errors and lifting vendor productivity
  • Scalable architecture designed to absorb traffic growth and new vendors
  • Real-time WebSocket comms kept the dispatcher and customer views in sync

Employee Management Tool

Payroll, performance & projects with RLS

A secure, collaborative HR platform covering the full employee lifecycle — payroll, attendance, tasks, and performance reviews — with PostgreSQL row-level security enforcing access rules right at the database.

  • Access rules enforced at the database level, not just the app — defence in depth for HR data
  • Asynchronous, Redis-queued emails kept the UI responsive under load
  • Modular backend let each module evolve independently

How I work

I don't settle for the first solution. I research, compare, and design before I build — because code that's easy to maintain beats code that was quick to write.

  1. Pending:

    Stage 01

    Understand

Start with the problem, the users, and the constraints — not the stack.

  2. Pending:

    Stage 02

    Research

See how others have solved it, and try the risky parts in my homelab first.

  3. Pending:

    Stage 03

    Decide

Compare the options on maintainability, performance, and cost.

  4. Pending:

    Stage 04

    Design

Plan the data model, APIs, and services before writing code.

  5. Pending:

    Stage 05

    Build

Ship in small, reviewed steps with tests and Docker-based environments.

  6. Pending:

    Stage 06

    Optimise

Profile queries and load, tune what's slow, then document it.

values

What I value

  • Maintainability over shortcuts
  • Measure first, optimise second
  • Automate anything I do twice
  • Documentation over tribal knowledge

collaboration

How I collaborate

  • Work with designers to get the UX right, down to the pixel
  • Bring QA in from day one, not at the end
  • Turn client and stakeholder needs into clear technical plans
  • Plan, ship, and review together in agile sprints
